Well, having accused Daniel of being less responsive than before, he replies to an email I sent him in lightning fast time!As well as assuring me that he is on the case, he also attached the AES3-2003 specs. It seems there are NO specs for the wordcl...

I thought we were just discussing attenuation, regarding connectivity the Weiss sounds best via it's firewire input, just a bit sharper, I find everything is a little more clearly defined than AES /s/pdif.Keith....

The only valuable foe myself history lesson I took after Jonathan Weiss visit was Jonathan’s quote. It was where we were sitting in his listening rooms and I was making one of few very fruitless attempts to explain to h...

I haven't tried the Weiss but tried a few others and I can tell you sonically the Bryston BP-1 blows the doors off anything else by a country mile.Maybe there are others just as good but I haven't heard any. However it is not an all in one solution...

I can just picture Mr Weiss now, in his living room enraptured by his playback system, except there's no physical system there, he's just got the brochures in front of him, and he's drooling all over the specs!...

On my Weiss I can use dual wire mode if i record in 24/192 this is mandatory I don't know about the Lavry but have you guys ever tried dual wire ??...

It looks like Denial Weiss has some kind of new Music Server with very sexy full-screen remote control. Does anybody know anything about it?

I think 99% of audio designers try to solve problems on paper (objective model).Mr.weiss try to loss less when design a volume control but non of them pay attention to musicality of sound.market do not like to say what new approach loose and they jus...

The people who suffer from the vintagtism in audio are special breed of Audio Morons™. Those people discovered a single focus of interests in some kind of vintage item and this focus became a point an unconditional dedication and fanatical devotion. ...
The TU-X1 sounds to me as though there is a dolby processing happening even when the dolby feature is off.
You might check if your country decoding switch is not in a wrong setting. It located at the very top of th...

Frank, I do not see a reason to argue arms. I am not on a market for arm and I am comfortable with the sound I am getting from two of my six arms. I have no motivations or needs to look for other arms. Thankfully I am not in business to sell audi...

Which RCA driver you use? RCA had a few drivers the pre and after war. I am familiar with a few after war drivers that I tried in my 330Hz horn and I was not impressed. Reportedly the pre-war MI-1428B shall be the one to play with; I did not have thi...

It was The Rocky Mountain Audio Show a few days back and I LOVE it. The best things about the show that I wasn’t there, thanks, thanks, thanks, God!!!
But it was not actually all. I had even more pleasure today when I went on-line to The AA Sewers ™...

Hello Romy,"Frank, I do not generally participate in the “technical discussions” about the tonearm design"I took the freedom and checked your participation in related threads and found your statement not to be true."Saying, all of it I
hope that you...

The Weiss AFI1 interface is measuring the following clock rates (in KHz) from the Model Two:- 44.122- 88.244- 176.488AND- 48.000- 96.000- 192.000Does this imply that the 48x clock is more accurate than the 44.1x clock in the Model Two? I'm assumi...

Related to posts on other threads, I recall noting that the Model Two's clock frequency is slightly off 44.1 KHz.With the Model Two in Master mode, the Weiss AFI1 reads the clock frequency as something like 44.08 KHz (I'm not in the UK right now, but...
The problem is that I detect that if I record in 44/24 or 88/24 in single-wire mode but the second wire is connected from Lynx to Pacific (and the line is muted by Lynx mixer) then I do have worsening of sound quality. The ...

Agree wholeheartedly. Anyone who believes that "listening" (and/or [dis]approval) by others is some sort of [necessary] pre-qualification has either not been at this for long or he simply fails to grasp how to put together an "acceptable" system, in...

Well, leaving aside my "grinding axes", namely my habitual love to remind people and myself that there are plenty Morons in audio I do think that Berkeley's parley to Reference DAC is interesting. It is interesting not by the DAC as a unit but rather...

I am putting together a system from the ground up, and while I am almost certain that I will be getting the CEC TLOX transport, I am at a loss as where to start in terms of auditioning DACS, it having been quite some time since last bought anything d...

Probably more of my customers are classical music lovers then just "Audiophiles" I'd be honest we are a dying breed if you look at the releases at the Audiophile record vendors it's mostly Pop music reissues from the 60's a nd 70's....

Perhaps your man in Seattle is also aware of the worldwide audio moronity. Perhaps he realises that whichever of these two DAC's comes out worst in your little 'shoot out', its reputation and manufacturer may suffer as the morons whisper in an intern...

Hi guys, I am considering of a Fireware Interface to match with my Prism sound da2. To make full use of the machine I will expect it to has the digital / rca output as well as the word input port. And the option I can find by the moment is the weiss ...

Maybe. But the problem is that I love the sound of my (old) D70 dac! A bit dry, yes, but it sounds fundamentally 'correct'.When I find a USB dac with HDCD capability, true multibit converters (preferably BB 1704s) and an ability to...
Have you heard these, Romy, or are you also impressed with the price/technology ratio?
Nope, I never heard them. They started a few years back making high quality clocks and now they spread themselves to DACs. I have...

I do not know what to say. Daniel is very knowledgeable person and it is the dual-wire specification (as I was told today) then I would doubt that Mr. Weiss would not comply with it. It is possible that it does it, you might not know how to activate ...
The last I heard from him, he was looking into how to get the clock frequency doubled, maybe by an external device (I think).
I do not like this idea. The frequency doublers are a very simple but it would need PS a...
